Terms and Conditions

The Brutus Journal highly values their readers and puts their enjoyment and wellbeing in the utmost priority. In order to best execute our goals, the Brutus Journal operates under the following terms and conditions. The Terms and Conditions will be enforced by the Editorial Board. The Brutus Journal will henceforth be referred to as the Journal.

Section 1: Author Attribution

The Journal publishes 100% original and human-written content. The Journal has a zero tolerance policy for writers who plagiarize or use AI to write their articles. Such practices dilute the value of the public discourse we provide.

Section 2: Controversial Content

The Journal encourages writers to practice good journalistic etiquette and not be afraid to broach controversial issues, so long as such content does not promote hate, discrimination, libel, or other activities which may cause harm to our audiences. Promoting the discussion of pertinent issues allows the public to have valuable conversations regarding the most pressing challenges facing our world today and identify ways to address or eventually solve them.

Section 3: Letters to the Editor

The Journal protects the right of readers to respond and engender discussions regarding its contents. The Journal will publish any Letters to the Editor submitted unless the writer requests otherwise, the content promotes hate, discrimination, libel, or other activities which may cause harm to our audiences, or the Editorial Board deems it inappropriate to publish, in which case the author will be informed of the reason of reaching such a discretion. The Editorial Board also reserves the right to add its own notes to the bottom or top of any letter for additional clarification or context but does not have the right to directly edit any letters without the permission of the writer.
